Ingredients
  

Scones:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet.
    Whisk dry ingredients + orange zest. Cut in butter.
    Mix wet ingredients. Stir into dry until just combined.
    Pat into 8" circle, cut into 8 wedges.
    Bake 15-18 minutes until golden. Cool 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Substitutions: Use lemon zest/juice for variation
  • Storage: Best day-of; freeze unglazed dough
