Chocolate

  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips Use your favorite brand for best results.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  • Mix in the salt, vanilla extract, and eggs until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each scoop.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
  • Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze dough for up to 3 months.
