- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk (whole milk preferred)

- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Tater Tots:Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the tater tots evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.Cook the Sausage:Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Remove the cooked sausage and set aside.Make the Gravy:In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked sausage and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.Assemble the Bowl:Divide the crispy tater tots into individual bowls. Spoon the warm sausage gravy over the top. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve immediately.
