Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen tart cherries
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Cherries: Rinse the cherries thoroughly. If using fresh cherries, remove the stems and pits.
    Simmer: In a medium saucepan, combine the cherries and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Blend: Allow the mixture to cool slightly. Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
    Strain: Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the juice into a bowl, pressing down to extract all the liquid.
    Sweeten and Serve: Stir in honey or agave syrup and lemon juice, adjusting to taste. Serve chilled or over ice.

Notes

  • For a smoother juice, strain twice.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
