Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cooked rice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic in a skillet; drain excess fat.
    Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker.
    Add chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, and seasonings.
    Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
    Stir in cooked rice (if using) before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use ground turkey or plant-based meat.
  • Freezes well for meal prep.
