Ingredients

For the Cookie

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Topping

  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or oven-safe pan with butter or cooking spray.
  • Step 2: Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
    Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Step 3: Assemble and Bake
Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared skillet, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set.
  • Step 4: Add the Finishing Touch
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra gooey center, underbake the cookie slightly.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate treat.
