For the Steaks:

- ½ cup breadcrumbs (Panko or Italian-style)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup or Dijon mustard
- ½ onion, grated or minced
- 1 tsp garlic powder or fresh garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Gravy:
- 8 oz (225g) sliced mushrooms (white or cremini)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 2 tbsp flour (for roux) or cornstarch slurry
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: ½ cup red wine for deglazing
Mix Patties: Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, ketchup, onion, and seasonings. Form into oval patties .Sear Patties: Brown patties in a skillet over medium-high heat (3–4 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.Make Gravy: In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until soft. Add butter and flour to make a roux, then whisk in broth and Worcestershire.
