Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (or 2 tbsp each ketchup + apple cider vinegar for sugar-free)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Combine Ingredients: Place chicken in slow cooker. Whisk remaining ingredients (except ½ the BBQ sauce) and pour over chicken.
    Cook: Cover and cook on LOW 4 hours or HIGH 2 hours.
    Shred: Remove chicken, shred with forks, then mix back into juices.
    Finish: Stir in reserved BBQ sauce. Broil 3 minutes for caramelization (optional).

Notes

  • For faster prep: Use 2 forks to shred directly in pot
  • Freezes well for up to 3 months
  • Swap BBQ sauce for buffalo sauce or teriyaki for variations
