Ingredients
  

Burger Patties:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • ½ cup Guinness beer
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Toppings:

  • 4 slices Irish cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup caramelized onions
  • 4 brioche buns, toasted
  • ¼ cup Irish stout mustard

Optional:

  • 4 slices bacon
  • Pickled cabbage

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Patties:
    Mix beef, Guinness, Worcestershire, and spices. Form into 4 patties (½" thick).
    Create thumb indent in center to prevent bulging.
    Cook:
    Grill or pan-sear over medium-high heat: 4 mins per side for medium.
    Add cheese last minute to melt.
    Assemble:
    Spread mustard on buns.
    Layer patty, onions, bacon (if using).

Notes

  • Beer Sub: Use beef broth + 1 tsp molasses if avoiding alcohol
  • Doneness: 160°F (71°C) internal temp for well-done
  • Make Ahead: Caramelize onions up to 3 days prior
