- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced (Russet or Yukon Gold)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken/celery)
- ½ cup milk (or sour cream for creaminess)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup French fried onions (optional topping)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.Brown the beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
