Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • Red pepper flakes (to taste)

Instructions

  • Prep: Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Set aside.
Cook Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Brown ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat.
Add Aromatics: Push beef to one side, add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 30 seconds.
Combine: Add broccoli and beef broth. Cover and steam for 3–4 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp.
Sauce: Pour sauce over the mixture, stir, and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Drizzle with sesame oil.
Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds or red pepper flakes.

Notes

  • For extra veggies, add bell peppers or carrots.
  • Substitute ground turkey or tofu for a lighter option.
