Ingredients

For the Cookies

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Add-Ins (Choose Your Flavor)

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos
  • ½ cup peanut butter cups (chopped)

For Frosting (Optional)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  • Step 2: Mix and Shape
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in your chosen add-ins (e.g., chocolate chips, crushed Oreos).
Scoop large portions of dough (about ¼ cup each) and place them on the baking sheets, leaving enough space for spreading.
  • Step 3: Bake and Cool
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Step 4: Frost (Optional)
If using frosting, beat the butter and powdered sugar until creamy. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, adjusting the consistency as needed. Pipe or spread onto cooled cookies.

Notes

  • For an authentic Crumbl look, make the cookies large and slightly press the dough balls before baking.
  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes enhances flavor and texture.
