Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders (or chicken breast cut into strips)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Dipping sauces (e.g., ranch, honey mustard, BBQ)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Coating:
In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and onion powder.
In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
    Coat the Chicken:
Dip each chicken tender into the egg mixture, then coat evenly with the flour mixture. Shake off any excess.
    Heat the Oil:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat (350°F/175°C).
    Fry the Chicken:
Carefully place the coated chicken tenders in the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
    Serve:
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-coat the chicken by dipping it in the egg mixture and flour mixture twice.
  • Use an air fryer for a healthier version: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
