- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine (or sherry)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- ½ tsp five-spice powder
- 1 tbsp red fermented bean curd (optional, for color)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Marinate: Mix all sauce ingredients, coat chicken, and marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight).Cook: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, basting twice, or grill until caramelized.Rest: Let chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing.Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced scallions.
