For Air Fryer Asparagus

  • 1 lb Asparagus Look for bright green spears that are firm and straight. Trim the woody ends before cooking.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Use extra virgin for robust flavor, can substitute with avocado oil.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest Fresh is best for zesty brightness.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated, preferably fresh for better flavor. Pecorino Romano can be used as an alternative.
  • to taste Salt Use kosher salt for better texture.
  • to taste Pepper Use freshly ground black pepper.

Preparation

  • Preheat the Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Trim the asparagus by gently bending each spear to find the natural breaking point and discard the tough ends.
  • In a large bowl, combine trimmed asparagus with olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Toss until fully coated.

Cooking

  • Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once cooked, transfer the asparagus to a serving platter and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best results, do not skip preheating the air fryer and avoid overcrowding the basket. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
