Description

Delicious and crispy homemade vegan tofu nuggets that are perfect for snacking. Easy to make and customizable with your favorite flavors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean towel and placing something heavy on top for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into nugget-sized pieces (1-2 inches).
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each tofu piece into the soy sauce mixture, then coat with cornstarch followed by breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet until shimmering.
  6. Fry the nuggets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain excess oil on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To make gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and tamari instead of soy sauce.
