Description

A fresh and flavorful twist on traditional burgers, these Tilapia Burgers combine light, flaky fish with tasty toppings for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb. tilapia fillets
  • 1/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 reduced-calorie hamburger buns
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tilapia by pulsing the fillets in a food processor until just chopped. Set aside.
  2. Mix the pulsed tilapia, Panko breadcrumbs, whole egg, egg white, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and basil in a bowl until just combined.
  3. Chill the mixture in the fridge for 10 minutes if too wet.
  4. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  6. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  7. Serve on toasted buns topped with avocado, tomato, and cucumber.
