Description

An authentic Thai-style marinated ground pork recipe bursting with flavor and nostalgia, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cilantro roots (rinsed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon white peppercorns
  • 1 head garlic (peeled)
  • 10.6 ounces ground pork
  • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 pinch sugar

Instructions

  1. Pound the cilantro roots in a mortar with a pestle until a paste-like consistency is achieved (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Add the white peppercorns to the cilantro roots and blend well for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the peeled garlic cloves into the mixture and pound until mixed and fine (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Mix the ground pork with the soy sauce, sugar, and cilantro mixture in a bowl, ensuring everything is thoroughly combined. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Cook the marinated pork in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until cooked through and slightly caramelized.

Notes

Marinate the pork for 30 minutes to an hour for richer flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
