Description

A delightful Thai-inspired snack featuring a crispy exterior and a flavorful pork mixture, perfect for gatherings or a tasty treat at home.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices sandwich bread (toasted)
  • 2 cilantro roots
  • ½ teaspoon white peppercorns
  • 8 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 10.6 ounces ground pork
  • ½ tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 32 fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 cups oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into 4 squares and set aside.
  2. Prepare the cilantro mixture by pounding cilantro roots, white peppercorns, and garlic until fine.
  3. Combine soy sauce, sugar, and garlic mixture with ground pork in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the beaten egg to the pork mix and combine well.
  5. Spread about 1 teaspoon of the pork mixture on each piece of toasted bread.
  6. Garnish each piece with a cilantro leaf.
  7. Fry the toast in hot oil for about 10 seconds on each side until golden brown.
  8. Drain them on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Fry in small batches for even cooking and avoid overcrowding the pan. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.
