Ingredients

Scale

  • Sesame seeds (for garnish): Toasted sesame seeds provide a beautiful finishing touch.
    • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced: Look for grass-fed beef if possible, as it enhances flavor and tenderness.
    • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice: Substituting with jasmine or basmati can add a nice aromatic quality.
    • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned): If using canned, opt for those in juice rather than syrup to keep it light and fruity.
    • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce: Homemade is best, but any high-quality store-bought variety will work in a pinch. Look for one with minimal additives.

    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar: Adjust based on your preference for sweetness. You could also use honey or maple syrup as alternatives.
