Delightful sweet-tart sugared cranberries that add a pop of color and flavor to any dessert or drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- Extra sugar for coating
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool slightly for about 10 minutes.
- Add 1 cup of fresh cranberries to the warm syrup, ensuring they’re fully submerged. Cover and let them soak for 30 minutes.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove cranberries, draining off any excess syrup.
- Pour extra granulated sugar into a shallow bowl and carefully roll each cranberry in the sugar until fully coated.
- Spread the sugared cranberries onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer and allow them to dry for at least 1 hour at room temperature.
- Serve as a garnish for cakes, pies, holiday drinks, or enjoy as a sweet snack.
