Description

A delightful no-bake dessert featuring layers of angel food cake, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 Angel Food Cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 (16-ounce) container Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (3-ounce) package strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, strawberry Jell-O, lemon juice, and water. Cook until thickened, then cool.
  2. Gently fold in sliced strawberries into the glaze.
  3. Tear angel food cake into pieces and mix with 2 cups of Cool Whip; press into a baking dish.
  4. Beat cream cheese with remaining sugar and vanilla until smooth; fold in extra Cool Whip and spread over cake base.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream layer and refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.

Notes

For best results, chill overnight. Avoid overmixing to keep the fluffiness.
