Description

Savor the taste of summer year-round with homemade Strawberry Freezer Jam, a simple and flavorful treat that’s perfect for spreading on toast or topping desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin (like Sure-Jell)
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mash the strawberries in a large bowl until desired consistency with some chunks for texture.
  2. Combine the sugar and lemon juice, stirring into the mashed strawberries, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare the pectin by mixing it with water in a saucepan and bringing it to a boil for 1 minute.
  4. Combine the hot pectin mixture into the strawberry mixture, stirring thoroughly.
  5. Fill clean freezer-safe containers with the mixture, leaving 1/2 inch of space at the top.
  6. Set the jam at room temperature for 30 minutes to thicken.
  7. Freeze the containers once set for later use.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are at room temperature for optimal flavor. Avoid overcooking pectin to prevent a runny jam.
