Description

A decadent dessert featuring vibrant strawberries and hidden pockets of rich chocolate that creates a delightful flavor explosion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 cup of strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spoon this mixture over the cake batter gently.
  5. Add the chopped strawberries and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the cream cheese layer.
  6. Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese layer and gently swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
