- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 cup of strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it evenly.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spoon this mixture over the cake batter gently.
- Add the chopped strawberries and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese layer and gently swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
