- 2/3 cup whole milk, warmed (about 110°F)
- 5 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
- 1 envelope active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 2 large eggs, beaten (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (plus extra for greasing)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the dough by adding beaten eggs, softened butter, remaining sugar, all-purpose flour, bread flour, and salt. Mix on low then knead on medium speed for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Roll out the dough into a 10×15-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Prepare the filling by beating cream cheese, softened butter, sugar, and vanilla in a separate bowl. Spread the mixture on the rolled-out dough and top with strawberry preserves.
- Shape the rolls by rolling the dough tightly, slice into 9 equal pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for another hour.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and bake rolls for about 35-40 minutes until golden.
- Make the frosting by whipping cream cheese, butter, and confectioners’ sugar until fluffy.
- Frost the rolls with cream cheese frosting while still warm.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or freeze for up to 2 months.
