- 1 cup (200 g), packed brown sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
- 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the buttermilk and melted butter.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
