Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup onion, finely diced
  • 4 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley or basil)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the onion into 1/8-inch pieces.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, black pepper, red pepper flakes, salt, parmesan cheese, and gluten-free breadcrumbs. Mix gently without overworking.
  4. Beat the egg in a small bowl and add it to the meat mixture, folding gently until it holds together.
  5. Roll the mixture into 1.5 tablespoon balls and place on the baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs.
  7. Bake for 22-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  8. Let them rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not overmix the meat mixture for tender meatballs. These meatballs can be refrigerated for up to four days or frozen for up to three months.
