Description

A luxurious Seafood Gratin featuring shrimp and scallops in a rich, creamy sauce topped with a crispy breadcrumb layer, perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz. shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 8 oz. scallops
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp and scallops, cooking until just opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the heavy cream and cheese until well combined, then gently fold in the seafood mixture.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and additional cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes. This dish can be assembled a day in advance.
