Roasted Garlic in Air Fryer: A Delicious and Versatile Recipe

  • Author: ranime
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 2-3 garlic heads 1x

Description

Perfectly caramelized roasted garlic made easily in the air fryer – sweet, buttery, and packed with flavor. Use as a spread, in sauces, or to elevate any dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 whole garlic heads
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut about 1/4 inch off the top of each garlic head to expose the cloves.
  3. Place each head on a piece of foil large enough to wrap it. Drizzle with olive oil, letting it seep into the cloves.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs if using. Wrap tightly in foil.
  5. Place in air fryer basket and cook for 25-30 minutes until cloves are golden brown and very soft.
  6. Carefully unwrap (watch for steam) and let cool slightly.
  7. Squeeze roasted garlic cloves out of their skins. Mash with a fork if desired.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
  • Freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage
  • Great on bread, mashed potatoes, pasta, or in salad dressings
  • For extra flavor, add a pat of butter before wrapping
  • Smaller garlic heads may cook faster – check at 20 minutes
