- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Buttercream frosting
- Chocolate candies for eyes
- Red candy nose
- Pretzels for antlers
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and mix until smooth.
- Stir in the boiling water carefully.
- Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Frost each cupcake generously with buttercream frosting.
- Decorate with chocolate candies for eyes, a red candy for the nose, and pretzels for antlers.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs and milk for better batter mixing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
