- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 9 cups puffed wheat
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large pot over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and cocoa powder. Stir gently until the mixture melts and reaches a gentle boil for about 1 minute.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the puffed wheat to the pot and mix until every piece is coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down with a spatula.
- Allow to cool for about 1 hour before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
