Description

A delightful no-bake treat combining puffed wheat with a rich, chocolaty base, perfect for family gatherings or a simple snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 9 cups puffed wheat

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and cocoa powder. Stir gently until the mixture melts and reaches a gentle boil for about 1 minute.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the puffed wheat to the pot and mix until every piece is coated.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down with a spatula.
  6. Allow to cool for about 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
