- 1 package of puff pastry (Thawed)
- 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 lemon (Juice only)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Butter (for greasing the muffin tin)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting before serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin with butter.
- Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into long strips (2 inches wide and 12 inches long).
- Slice each apple in half, remove the core, and cut into very thin slices.
- Toss apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar until well coated.
- Lay the apple slices along the edge of the pastry strips, overlapping slightly.
- Fold the bottom of the pastry strip upwards to encase the apple slices, then roll from one end to the other to create a rose shape.
- Place the rolled roses in the greased muffin tin, standing upright.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
- Allow cooling slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Using high-quality puff pastry is key for the best flavor. You can prepare the roses a day in advance and refrigerate before baking.
