Description

Delicate puff pastry roses filled with thinly sliced apples and fragrant cinnamon, perfect for any dessert occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of puff pastry (Thawed)
  • 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 lemon (Juice only)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Butter (for greasing the muffin tin)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting before serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin with butter.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into long strips (2 inches wide and 12 inches long).
  3. Slice each apple in half, remove the core, and cut into very thin slices.
  4. Toss apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar until well coated.
  5. Lay the apple slices along the edge of the pastry strips, overlapping slightly.
  6. Fold the bottom of the pastry strip upwards to encase the apple slices, then roll from one end to the other to create a rose shape.
  7. Place the rolled roses in the greased muffin tin, standing upright.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
  9. Allow cooling slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Using high-quality puff pastry is key for the best flavor. You can prepare the roses a day in advance and refrigerate before baking.
