Description

A homemade version of the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich featuring crispy chicken thighs and spicy mayo on buttery brioche buns.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • ½ cup mayo
  • 12 tbsp hot sauce
  • 2 buttery brioche buns
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dredge the marinated chicken in the seasoned flour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet until it reaches 350°F.
  5. Fry the chicken for about 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F).
  6. Assemble the sandwich with spicy mayo, fried chicken, and pickles on brioche buns.

Notes
