Description

A comforting classic blending savory ham with sweet pineapple for a deliciously nostalgic dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 pounds ground ham (precooked)
  • 3/4 pound ground pork
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (for glaze)
  • 8 ounces crushed pineapple (with juice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and spray a 9×13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground ham, ground pork, eggs, yellow mustard, ketchup, chopped onion, graham cracker crumbs, and milk. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf in the baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle paprika on top.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. In a saucepan, combine light brown sugar, white vinegar, yellow mustard, and crushed pineapple. Cook until boiling, then boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.
  7. Brush the glaze over the loaf after 20 minutes of baking.
  8. Return the loaf to the oven and bake for an additional 70 minutes, basting every 20 minutes.
  9. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165ºF.
  10. Let the loaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serve warm with remaining glaze.

Notes

Store leftover ham loaf in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. For extra flavor, let the mixture sit for a few minutes before baking.
