Description

This Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese merges classic grilled cheese and pizza into one irresistible sandwich, perfect for comfort food lovers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (preferably sourdough or classic white)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup of fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup of thick-cut pepperoni slices
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread the butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Sprinkle garlic powder on the buttered side.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  4. Place one slice of bread buttered side down in the skillet. Layer with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle pepperoni on top.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cheese melts and both sides are golden.
  7. Remove from skillet, let cool briefly, then cut in half and serve hot with marinara sauce.

Notes

For a crispier crust, use a cast iron skillet. Feel free to customize with different cheeses or add veggies.
