Peppermint Chocolate Blossom Cookies

Description

Delicious soft and chewy cookies filled with peppermint candy kisses, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peppermint candy kisses, unwrapped
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Scoop and drop balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are set but still soft in the center.
  7. Press one peppermint candy kiss into each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven.
  8. Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies while warm for garnish.
  10. Serve and enjoy!

Notes
