- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla and peppermint extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- For a fudgier texture, chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Using a cookie scoop, place dough on baking sheets and optionally top with more chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
