- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl combine rolled oats and nuts. Break any large pieces for a more uniform texture.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) together until smooth. Add vanilla extract and salt, stirring gently for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the mixture over the oats and nuts, mixing until well combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pressing it down firmly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through for even browning.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Stir in the chocolate chips once cool.
- Store in an airtight container.
Notes
For added clumpiness, let the granola cool before stirring in chocolate chips. You can customize the add-ins to suit your taste.
