Homemade granola with nutty peanut butter and rich chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or a quick snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl combine rolled oats and nuts. Break any large pieces for a more uniform texture.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) together until smooth. Add vanilla extract and salt, stirring gently for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture over the oats and nuts, mixing until well combined.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pressing it down firmly.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through for even browning.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  8. Stir in the chocolate chips once cool.
  9. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

For added clumpiness, let the granola cool before stirring in chocolate chips. You can customize the add-ins to suit your taste.
