- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time and then mix in vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Warm peanut butter in a microwave until melted, then layer half of brownie batter in the prepared pan.
- Add warmed peanut butter in spoonfuls on top, layer remaining brownie batter, and swirl gently.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool for 20 minutes before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding nuts, chocolate chips, or a dash of cinnamon. These brownies can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days or frozen for longer storage.
