  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time and then mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Warm peanut butter in a microwave until melted, then layer half of brownie batter in the prepared pan.
  7. Add warmed peanut butter in spoonfuls on top, layer remaining brownie batter, and swirl gently.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before lifting out and cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding nuts, chocolate chips, or a dash of cinnamon. These brownies can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days or frozen for longer storage.
