These soft, buttery, and slightly sweet Parker House Rolls are a comforting classic that will elevate any meal.

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (105-115°F)
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed slightly
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted, divided
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
Instructions
- Add the yeast and warm water in a bowl of a stand mixer; let rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in the warm milk, melted butter, egg, sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt; combine on low.
- Gradually add in the flour while mixing on low; knead until smooth and elastic, about 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and let it rise until doubled, about 60-90 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Divide the dough into 24 pieces, press into rectangles, and brush with melted butter before folding.
- Arrange in a grid in the baking dish, brush with more butter, and let rise for 30-60 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with more melted butter and sprinkle with salt before serving warm.
Notes
These rolls can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days or frozen for up to a month.
