Description

A delightful and easy breakfast bake that combines the flavors of cinnamon rolls with the heartiness of French toast, prepared the night before for a stress-free morning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can cinnamon roll dough
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar for serving
  • Additional cinnamon roll icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Cut the cinnamon roll dough into quarters and spread evenly in the greased dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, ensuring each one is well coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the cover and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Serve with a drizzle of icing or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

Ensure the butter in the cinnamon roll dough is at room temperature for easy cutting. This dish can be customized with nuts or fruits as desired.
