- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warm
- 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt; mix well.
- Warm milk and butter until touch warm (110°F).
- Add warm milk and butter to dry ingredients, then add egg, orange zest, and orange juice; mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough, cut into strips, and roll into individual rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth for the icing.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.

For fluffiest rolls, ensure yeast is fresh and proofing is done in a warm environment.
