- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- Zest of 1 large orange
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Juice of 1 large orange
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, gently warm your milk and add the softened butter.
- Add the milk mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down and roll it into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
- Brush melted butter over the dough, sprinkle with sugar, and add orange zest.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream, melted butter, powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, immediately drizzle the warm glaze over them.
