Description

Delightful brownies infused with fresh orange juice and zest, offering a unique twist to the classic dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Cups granulated sugar
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 Sticks salted butter (softened)
  • 4 Large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 3 oranges
  • Orange food coloring (as desired)
  • 2 1/2 Cups confectioners sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/3 Cup fresh orange juice (for glaze)
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  4. Add the softened butter and mix on LOW speed until combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth.
  6. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, mixing gently on low speed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown around the edges and firm in the center.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. For the glaze, whisk together confectioners sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth.
  11. Spread the glaze over the cooled brownies and enjoy!
