- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: Sour cream, shredded cheese, and chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in the rinsed beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, and cumin. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer; reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve topped with your favorite garnishes.

For best results, let the chili simmer to deepen flavors. Adjust spices according to taste.
