- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef to the pot, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Raise the heat and bring the mixture to a rapid boil, stirring occasionally (about 2-3 minutes).
- Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot in bowls and add your favorite toppings.
