- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

- In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a rolling boil, then reduce heat to low simmer.
- Stir in sifted flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides, about 1-2 minutes.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Slice cream puffs in half, fill with whipped cream, and replace tops. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a shiny finish, glaze the puffs with a beaten egg before baking. Store unfilled puffs at room temperature; filled ones are best eaten the same day.
