Description

A decadent and nostalgic Southern classic featuring layers of chocolate cookie crust, creamy filling, and whipped cream topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie pan to form a crust.
  3. Bake the crust for about 10 minutes and allow it to cool completely.
  4. In another bowl, beat together the sugar, cream cheese, and cocoa powder until smooth (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Gradually pour in the heavy cream, beating continuously until fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and spread it evenly.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.

Notes

Ensure butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for the creamiest filling. This pie is better the next day!
