Description

Delicious bite-sized shepherd’s pie with savory filling and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for snacks or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of pre-made puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups prepared mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté the diced onion until translucent in a skillet over medium heat (about 3-5 minutes). Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the ground meat, breaking it up until browned (about 8-10 minutes).
  4. Stir in the mixed vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes to meld the flavors.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry to fit your muffin tin, about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares or circles.
  6. Assemble the bites by greasing the muffin tin, placing pastry in each cup, and filling with meat mixture. Top with mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can customize the filling with lentils for a vegetarian option or add spices for extra heat.
